Jotunheimen - Rondane – Dovrefjell – a roundtrip with car and hiking boots!
This is the trip for the ones that desires an exquisite trip in a wonderful area for hiking!
We have made the choice of areas and alternatives of overnight stays out of the references from previous guests. All of the overnight stays are well known for their characteristics, nice and friendly hosts and choice of food – most people will call this a culinary journey!

You stay at:
In Jotunheimen: Grønolen Fjellgard (mountain farm) in Valdres, 850 m asl. Your hosts are Tor Erik and Øyvind Grønolen. The two brothers are both chefs as well as guides on hikes outside the ordinary trails (3 nights: Sunday - Wednesday)
In Rondane: Venabu Fjellhotell (mountain hotel) in the mountain of Ringebu. Your hosts are Halldis and Lars Tvete. They will do their outmost to make you feel at home. They have music in the evening for the ones feeling like even more exercise! (2 nights: Wednesday – Friday)
In Dovrefjell: Kongsvold Fjellstue (mountain inn), 900 m asl. Your hosts are Ellen and Knut Nyhus. This inn is well known for its beautiful interior and exquisite food. Here you will be able to join a musk ox safari (2 nights: Friday - Sunday)

Day by day program

Sunday
Arrival at Grønolen Moutain farm, 5 km from Beitostølen. Delicious dinner, coffee and dessert. After dinner, we talk about the program and give tips and advice for the trips.
Monday
The first tour takes us to the mountain Mugnetind, 1705 meters above sea level. This is a wonderful hike and a good way to start our holiday. We drive to Mugnestølen, where we begin an easy climb along the river to see what the fitness level is like. We enjoy our lunch by the Mugnebøtt lake before we take on the more strenous climb to the top. A fantastic scenic panorama opens up when we get to the top - something that will take your breath away. We take an alternative route back down and enjoy a refreshing footbath in the river Mugna before we head for home. 
Tuesday
The mountain of Skyrifjellet, 1548 m.a.s.l. We start after breakfast and drive up to the foot of mt Bitihorn. We hike up the frontside, and just before the top we take to the left and follow the edge down towards Velumskaret. We then climb again and follow the ridge of mt. Skyrifjellet all the way around. Wonderful views! On the way back be walk towards Raufjorden and back to the "sami-camp" at the foot of mt. Bitihorn.  
Wednesday
A day of rest, to recharge ourselves for the hike on Thursday. We drive up to Valdreflya and hike across flatt and easy terrain to Store Nuten with a wonderful view of Jotunheimen, Rondane and the lake Vinstervatn with Bitihorn in the background. Then we walk to the mountain farm and enjoy sour cream porridge and cured meat. After you drive to Venabu. The hosts at Venabu awaits you with a wonderful buffet of Norwegian specialities!
Thursday
Rondane National Park and ”Høgronden”.
A nice, but steep trail up to the top of ”Høgronden” (2114 m asl) with fabulous views to Atnsjøen and the mountain massif of Rondanet. We will make an easier hike for the ones wanting that.
Friday
In the Kingdom of the wild reindeers and the Church of Sollia.
Today we will walk the moss covered open areas where the wild reindeer roam. One group will hike to the peak of ”Finnsjøvola” with wonderful views to well known mountains as “Snøhetta” and “Rendalssølen”. The other group will walk an easier trail. We will visit the church of Sollia, one of the best-preserved churches form the Baroque Age.
From here you drive your own car through Atndalen and Folldal to Kongsvold Fjeldstue.
Saturday 
Join in on a Musk ox Safari – the guide has already been checking out the possibilities to see animals and there are pretty good opportunities to see one or two – in the distance! Bring your own binoculars! This is not an everyday happening but will be a memorable end to an eventful week in the National Parks of Norway!
