A hiking adventure spiced with culinary coastal experiences
In these green Alps by the sea, over the gentle moorland and rounded hills, under the craggy peaks or along the ocean's rolling waves,
we have chosen a nice location and some great hikes for you! We live in Ringstad Sjøhus in Bø, which during a week participate in fresh activities,
we go on a fjord safari, we walk cultural trails, in the Queen Sonja's footsteps, we walk the coastal path around Gaukværøy with panoramic views of the ocean ,

We live in Ringstad Sjøhus in Bø, where we during a week have activities; -we go on a fjord safari, we walk local cultural paths following in Queen Sonja's footsteps
and we walk the coastal path around the island Gaukværøy with a panoramic view to the ocean.
During the week it is also possible to go on sea fishing and then for those who want be supervised in cooking, up to a dinner that will impress the rest of the group.
An option on this day is walking in the village Ringstad, where Knut Hamsun in his time was a teacher.

Day 1: Individual arrival. Welcome! Arrive at 3-course dinner, guide and host presents weekly program and excursion opportunities.

Day 2: The tour today runs from Vinje up to the “Losje” cabin and for those who want it is possible to go further up to Vetter (467moh) -
The trip takes approx. 3 hours. From here we have a magnificent view over the villages in Bø, Vesterålsfjord and Lofoten. We go to Bø Museum and
visit the "Man from the Sea" which is much loved by locals, and one of the most popular works of art in the Sculpture Landscape Nordland.
Museum North tells us a story of Regine Normann - Northern Norway's first female author, who was born in 1867 in Bø in Vesterålen.
We return back to Ringstad Seahouses for a culinary experience with exquisite tastes from the region.

Day 3: We follow the culture path from Ringstad to Klaksjord that goes along Gåslandsvannet, which is the largest lake in Vesterålen.
The path starts at Ringstad, and is an old route. One of the tour's highlights is the newly built suspension bridge that goes out to Blomenholmen.
Here we cook coffee on a fire and take a break in the bivouac. The trip goes through easy terrain of marshes, through forests and along the seashore
to the village Klaksjord. Here a boat is waiting with our lunch, takes us on a fjord safari and then back to Ringstad. Tonight is the barbeque out on the pier -
and if the weather permits, there will be dance on the pier.

Day 4: In the Queen's footsteps. The Queen has done many fine hikes in Vesterålen, also in Bø. The coastal path from Straumsjøen
to Spjelkvågen is one of these hikes.  This hike is difficult and longer than the others, and that the terrain is rough in some places.
For those who do not want to go all the way, we provide a shortened alterantive to the lighthouse in Vikan. The path runs along the ocean and
offers spectacular views and fresh sea breeze. The whole trip takes approx. 8 hours, the short version about 3 hours.
Back at Ringstad we invite to cheese & wine. Main course and dessert served at the Sjøhuset restaurant.

Day 5: “The fisherman's food reservoir.” Today is the opportunity for sea fishing. A captain on a fishing boat will take a group out on sea fishing.
The day's capture will be prepared of the days fishermen in our kitchen. They who want will be supervised up to a dinner that will impress the rest
of the group (recommended!) Those who are not joining the seafishing will be on a hike to Bretinden (565 masl) It is possible to make the hike shorter.
There are wonderful views into the Hellfjorden.

Day 6: After breakfast we take a boat to Gaukværøy, as in the Middle Ages was one of the largest fishing villages in Vesterålen, but was abandoned after World War II.
Today, only house foundations are left. The coastal road around the island is now a tour that is easy to walk and has panoramic
views to the open sea. Boat trip back to the mainland. The trip is weather dependent and is possibly changed with one of the hikes another day.
Evening walk with panoramic views of Nykvåg and Hovden before dinner.
