| Rallarvegen is the most popular cycling route in Norway! Enjoy the wild and beautiful nature of Norway's westcoast, with sheltered fjords, lush, green valleys, spectacular waterfalls and rushing river rapids. The contrast and experiences are remarkable and just have to be experienced to be believed! Rallarvegen is the most popular cycling route in Norway, offering both a historical and close-to-nature adventure. The road was hand-made and used as a transportation route during the building of the Bergenbanen railway from 1895-1902. All along the route you will come across preserved cultural treasures from this period, like railway workers barracks and stone bridges. The road is 82 km long and the scenery varies immensely, from Arctic high mountain nature across Hardangervidda to the opulent green Flåmsdalen valley. Although the road standard is rather rough along the route, there is little or no tourist traffic, and there are some asphalted stretches here and there. The trip can be made between 15. July - 1. October. If you book less than 3 weeks prior to departure, we cannot guarantee that there are rooms available - so book early! |

1. Take Flamsbanen Railway to Myrdal, train to Upsete and furhter by bike to Voss. You will pass ancient farming
communities, and after a few days high up in the mountains it will be a welcome change to round off the trip in the popular tourist
city of Voss. From Voss you can take train back to Haugastøl / Oslo or continue Bergen.
2. Take Expressboat ghrough Sognefjorden to Bergen
3. Continue by train or Expressboat to Bergen from Flåm
4. Expand the package to include train t/r Oslo or Bergen.
4. It is possible to insert an extra day at Finse and go with guide on the glacier "Blåisen" at Hardangervidda Nationalpark (equipment can
be rented) or stay an extra night in Flam to go the Aurland Vellye or take a Fjord-cruise in Nærøyfjord, which is on Unesco`s list.
